Designer Spotlight Friday & a Freebie!!!

I have been scrapping since my son was born 2 and a half years ago. Digiscrapping, I've only been doing it for about a year and designing for about 6 months.
2. What software do you use?
I currently use Photoshop CS2
3. Describe your scrapping style or work space?
My workspace is very hectic! lol Sometimes when things are slow at work I will design a couple things but when I get home I design some more. So my stuff is everywhere. My scrapping style is very different, I don't think I have a set style I just do whatever I feel that day.
4. What are your scrap goals?
My scrap goals... ummmm... lol. I think it would be to set more time aside to design. Right now at the moment its a little hard because my son needs a lot of attention right now, I am pregnant with my second child, so I really want to give him the attention so when the baby comes he doesn't get jealous. So that is my primary goal, my second would be to scrap more pictures, I have tons and no pages lol.
5. Tell us about yourself....
Well... what can I say? My name is Czianya pronounced Si-AN-ja! I am 21 years old, I have been married to the love of my life for 4 wonderful years. I am a working full time mom to a very Active 2 year old boy and one more on the way. IRL I am a graphic designer and conference planner.
6. If you could meet 1 other digital designer, who would it be?
That's easy, lol. Michelle Herron! Shes an awesome person and a great designer to work with.
7. What's your favorite product that you have designed and why?My favorite has been The To Infinity... & And Beyond kits. I love the colors and all the stuff that Michelle and I created. I've done sooo many things with those 2 kits already and I still have more project in mind. Its a very versatile product. And here's a freebie from Cziany!! Make sure you leave her some love! Template Challenge @ SFS

I’m a very clean scrapper. I love white space and focusing on the photo. I am also extremely drawn to anything that has an element cluster!
4. What are your scrap goals?
I would really love to scrap my sons entire life, lol .. I’m already about 1 ½ years behind though!
5. Tell us about yourself....
I’m 24, from North Carolina – but living in Kentucky (Thanks to the Army!). Married to my high school best friend for the past 3 ½ years. We have a 2 ½ year old son together named Jaxon. He’s my inspiration! I love photography, and everything to do with graphic design and computers. I’m going to school full time at Kaplan University for Business Administration.
6. If you could meet 1 other digital designer, who would it be?
Shabby Princess! When I first started out I completely fell head over heels for the freebies there … I blame her for my addiction! ;)
7. What's your favorite product that you have designed and why?
I think my favorite so far is my Jaxon Exploding Box. I love anything Hybrid and exploding boxes have always been a favorite of mine. Amy is a special part of the Creative Team here at ScrappinFreestyle. She works with different SFS Designers each month to create beautiful layouts using their fun products.
1. How long have you been scrapping?
I started digi-scrapping almost a year ago now, back in September 2007. I loved paper scrapbooking before that, but never had the right space for all my materials. So when I found digi-scrapping and the easy "storage" of my supplies, I was thrilled!
2. What software do you use?
I used Paint Shop Pro to make my scrapbook pages. Every single day, I learn something new about the program that I didn't know before, which allows me to try new things on my layouts.
3. Describe your scrapping style or work space?
Well, I actually have two spots. My desktop computer and my laptop. Before I got a new laptop, I had to do all my scrapbooking on my desktop computer because my older laptop didn't like Paint Shop Pro. I still use the desktop for some things, but now with my new laptop, my work space can be anywhere! Typically, it's relaxing on the couch, with my computer on my lap and sometimes my music playing or a DVD in the TV, and other times, I like the peace and quiet of just me and my scrapbooking! It just depends on the day!
4. What are your scrap goals?
My goals are to scrap pages to showcase all my photos (many of which I still need to scan in), as well as to create a beautiful heritage album for both my mom and dad's side of the family tree.
5. Tell us about yourself....
When I'm not working on my computer doing something, you will most likely find me working on things for my school. I am a third-grade school teacher, a job which I adore! Otherwise, you may find me trying to dig up some old family record in my genealogy research!
6. If you could meet 1 digital designer or store owner, who would it be?
Seeing as my favorite designer is RCMama, you'd think I would choose her…the only problem is I already know her!! There are so many designers out there who make such fantastic products, but if I had to choose one, I would have to say Jannidee from Janniscrap designers. I absolutely adore her designing style and her products, and getting to know her through her blog entries.
7. Do you have a favorite designer that you enjoy to work with?
Well, I truly have to say that RCMama is my favorite designer to work with. If it hadn't been for her, I may not have found digi-scrapping in the first place. And it has been a joy to follow her along step-by-step in her own designing career!!
AMY'S TIP FOR OTHER SCRAPPERS:Here is one of my favorite tips to get nice sharp looking layouts online. After your layout is all resized and ready to go, but right before you do your final save for the web, use your sharpen tool. I live in Poland . I'm a married mom of one beautiful girl who inspires my creations.Natalia is four years old. I am a teacher in the kindergarten .I love working with children.My favorite things are: spending time with my wonderful husband and daughter, designing,watching movies, reading, painting and art. I love designing and I feel proud of myself for being part of this community.
6. If you could meet 1 other digital designer, who would it be?
I admire a lot of designers and I think I do not have one favorite , but if I could choose the one I| would like to meet Barbara aka digiMom Designs. She is a very friendly girl and great designer. 7. What's your favorite product that you have designed and why?My favorite product is " Ann's Window" I dream about my own little house with a window full of colorful flowers . I started paper scrapping back in my early teenage yrs but found digital scrapping in 2003 after my daughter was born and my husband left on his 1st deployment to Iraq.
2. What software do you use?
I have used PSP 7,9,and 10. I am looking at upgrading to the newest edition soon.
3. Describe your scrapping style or work space?
I like to try many different techniques. I can look at a layout and know what parts I want to use on my own. I think Sketches leave room for your own imagination and details but offer you a good base to start with. Most the time I just like clean lines. I try to create as much white space as possible, but also like to use multiple photos in one layout. It is hard for me to focus just on one photo, but I am learning and continue to work towards perfecting that.
4. What are your scrap goals?
All I want is for my children to have memories that they can share and keep for many generations. I want them to look back at the things I have made and the words that I have said and remember their whole childhood and be able to tell a story about it all.
5. Tell us about yourself....
I am a Wife and a Mother. My husband serves in the USAF while I am blessed to be able to stay home with our children to raise them. We have two children. Our Daughter will be 5 in August and we have a 1 1/2 yr old son.
6. If you could meet 1 digital designer or store owner, who would it be?
This is tough. I would love to meet so many of them because I love their styles and believe that I would be able to learn a lot from them as well as get an idea of who they are and why they create what they do. It would be nice to somehow bring together the creators as well as those that work with their products digitally to discuss everything about digital. So you see... I am not sure I can answer this one. = )
7. Do you have a favorite designer that you enjoy to work with?
You know... I do not think I have a favorite designer. There are certain kits that I enjoy and sometimes they are from one designer and others are from a different one. I do not pick my kits because of a certain designer because their styles change to bring in more customers. I look for the kind of kit I am able to use more than once and mainly ones that I can use for a girl or boy. I enjoy kits that are created from a collaboration because you can get so many different styles into one kit that somehow all comes together and works great!
8. Tip for other Scrappers!! = )
Tips...Try anything once. If you see something on a layout someone else has created, try to do it. It will only advance you and teach you to do things differently. Keep an open mind. If you see a kit and do not believe you can use it, try.

Tutorials & PSE Actions @ ScrappinFreestyle
Hello Everyone! Mega-Doodle Inspired popping in here to talk about Actions for Adobe Photoshop Elements.... A couple months ago I got a request for PSE actions. And I have to admit, I didn't even know where to start! I didn't even know how to install actions in PSE!! I searched the web high and low to find out and sadly, the tutorials out there were not clear enough for me. SO...I installed both PSE 5 and 6 on my own computer and wrote my own tutorials! I include them with all my PSE actions. And then during the Wednesday chat last week, one of our Challenge Hostess' mentioned that she just couldn't get any actions installed correctly in PSE. This got me to thinking. I should share my tutorials! = ) Here is a screen shot of several of my actions installed in PSE.

I have been scrapping for about 11 years. A year and a half ago I discovered digital scrapbooking and I have not really gone back to paper since. I started designing in October of 2007, when I made a paper pack for a color challenge. I love designing because it gives me an outlet for my creativity without making a big mess in my house.
2. What software do you use?
I use the Gimp and Inkscape.
3. Describe your work space?
My desk is set up in my diningroom, from which I can see my livingroom and part of the back yard. I usually can see my kids while I am at my desk, which is great. My two-year-old is Trouble with a capital T, so if I cannot see him, I had better run and get him! I have a 22 inch flat panel, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a 750 GB external hard drive. My only wish now (apart from a killer laptop) is for more ram. 2 GB is not enough for me; I want my computer smokin'!
4. What are your scrap goals?
I want to make pretty LOs for my family to enjoy, both now and in 50 years. I love looking through old albums of myself and my family, and having the journaling would just make it so much better. I want my grandchildren to know who I am and who the others are that helped shape them into the people that they will be.
5. Tell us about yourself...
I am a 33-year-old mother of three and wife to a great guy named Ed. Our kids are 6, 4, and 2. I stay at home with the kids and homeschool the older two (during the school year, that is). I live in a town near Pittsburgh, PA. Faith and family are a big part of my life.
6. If you could meet 1 other digital designer, who would it be?
I would love to meet Kim Broedelet in person. Since she lives in South Africa, though, that is not likely to happen. Boo hoo! A more realistic wish would be to meet our very own Brandy a.k.a. MegaDoodle. She and I were on the Element Team here at SFS together and now we have "graduated" to being designers.
7. What's your favorite product that you have designed and why?
I think that my favorite product so far is Let Freedom Ring. My style really evolved during the creation of that kit and I am so proud of it. *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ And don't forget the freebie!
